Bonjour Blueonblue;

I am surprise you didn't see Burt riding around when you were young in the U.K. (lol)!

I'm sure one day, we will have the whole show on DVD. Hal David is also on the show with Burt too. Both Burt and Hal were talking about how nice it was to be in the U.K.

Take care mon ami.

Vincent

I'm lucky to have a 3rd or 4th generation DVD copy of the entire 40 minute show. Entitled 'The Bacharach Sound', it was recorded at Granada Studios in Manchester in 1965 and also featured Dusty Springfield (I Just Don't Know What to do with Myself & Wishin' & Hopin', the latter with the Merseybeats), Chuck Jackson (Any Day Now), the Searchers (Magic Potion) and Dionne Warwick (Walk on By & Wives and Lovers). Bacharach himself is featured (as conductor and pianist) with the three lady vocalists known as the Breakaways on Trains and Boats and Planes and There's Always Something There to Remind Me. Yes, the whole show is hugely enjoyable but is has to be stated that none of the music is 'live' and everyone involved is merely miming to the records. Hal David is featured in a very short conversation with Bacharach in the studio which sets up Trains and Boats and Planes. They agree that it's one of the best songs they've written.

Bonjour pjms;

Hey it's great that you have this show on DVD! I have it on VHS, but need to convert it to DVD.

I just love Chuck Jackson where he sang, 'Any day Now!!!'

Hey, I might have something in my archives that you might like. Maybe I can send you a copy of some Burt stuff on DVD and you can send me yours. Drop me a private email.

Take care;

Vincent

Bonjour Djalma;

I am just passing on what someone else already put on YouTube!

Yes, it's nice to see Burt in the mid 60's! Things only got better for him in the next 5 to 6 years or so!

Then Lost Horizon happen :cry: :!:

I still love the music from that movie!

Take care;

Vincent

That's a hell of a drive - West End, over to the City, then back to Kensington. Would take about 3 hours these days. I see he got stuck in traffic on Tower Bridge - so do I every morning.

Nowmedical,
Thanks for ID'ing some of the locales that Burt was driving in...I wondered myself what
some of these areas were...
Best,
Steveo

I know that Burt is a genius. But, still! I can't imagine any American being able to drive on the left side of the road. I just know that, at every turn, I'd be afraid that I'd have a head-on car crash. I know that I'd be wanting to get to the right side no matter what. At the least, I know I'd get confused and be wondering, "what side should I be on now?" Not to mention the horror of having the steering wheel on the right side of the car and having to sit on the passenger side. Well, kudos to Burt for being able to drive like that and look so suave and cool at the same time!

Bonjour Blueonblue;

If I had to guess, I would say it’s a Ford Galaxy.

Also where is Bond Street located in London?

Take care mon ami.

Dear Vincent,

But most importantly, you have disclosed this clip!
About the movie "Lost Horizon", it is impossible not to like the songs of that film, which were beautiful even in the album "Living Together"!

Best Regards,
Djalma Junior.
