Funny version of Wives and Lovers

The great Pearl Bailey singing live on TV in '69. A natural comedienne, she plays off members of the audience beautifully here.

Hilarious! What incredible timing that woman had.

I've got a few vinyl copies of her albums, all of them on the risque' side and full of Cole Porter songs like 'Let's Do It', 'The Laziest Girl in Town' and 'The Great Indoors'.

Thanks for alerting us to the video.

Before the age of political correctness when singers, including many great female stars, had no qualms about performing this song. It's now rarely sung and when it is it's usually with heavy irony. Shame because it's undoubtedly one of BB's greatest tunes.
