Is A L Bacharach related to Burt Bacharach?

I've just found a book in my family heirlooms. It is the 13th impression, dated September 1945. The foreword is by the editor, A.L. Bacharach, writing from Trebetherick, Cornwall, England in August of 1934. The book is titled "The Musical Companion" with the sub-title "A Compendium For All Lovers of Music". Can anyone tell me if the A L Bacharach was related to Burt Bacharach:?: I understand that Burt's father, Bert was a widely syndicated writer, but on which subjects, I do not know.
