Just sometimes the pretty stuff - Promises, Make It Easy, San Jose et al - gets tiresome.
And so I turn to disc 3 from Something Big and there I find a collection of some quite remarkable jazz-instrumental tracks. Rarely mentioned, wholly understated.
Just listen to the genuinely uplifting "Another Spring Will Rise", or the most atmospheric track I've ever heard - perfectly capturing the heat of summer, on water - "Riverboat".
Is it only me who revels in this side of Burt?
Something Big, something different

I honestly don't agree with the "tiresome" part. However, I do agree wholeheartedly with you that Burt has produced compositions of genius quality that are, indeed, rarely mentioned or spoken about or known by all but the greatest fans of Burt. His depth is amazing. Burt's musical output is like the ocean; most people only see the top.
