And please read his wonderful commentary on each Dionne song. He's more than just a regular fan, that's for sure.
(I love youtube!!)

who gets the guy
Enormous - Thank you SO MUCH for posting this song! I have always heard of it, but never heard it. You can't get hold of those old Dionne albums, and it's not on any of the collection albums, at least none that I have. It is quintessential Bacharach! For folks who listen to more than just the "first hearing hook" kind of tune, this piece offers so much to listen for and to appreciate.. as do most of Burt's tunes. More than 35 years after its production, it still captivates, still makes me want to hear more, and still sounds fresh and new and original. Oh, what a genius in Burt, Hal and Dionne. Together they really amplified the American songbook, not just quantitatively, but qualitatively, giving it a flavor, a direction, a feel and original sound that no other team has done to quite the same degree. Thanks so much for the posting! Steve

What a beauty
Dibotis, thank you for sharing this beautiful song!
I only know this song from promises, promises and the version from the Maestro.
Its funny that i hear this version from Dionne for the first time?
A very gem.
Written with the passion by Burt and those beautiful lyrics by the other genius Hal!
This song is a really masterpiece from these two great guys!
And as all the other songs which Burt wrote together with Hal, after all the years the remarkable strength is put in to it and will always be!
Burt and Hal,many thanks for all the great songs that you gave us!
Kind Regards Marcel
