The Musical Genius of 'Wichita Lineman': A One-on-One with Jimmy Webb

Fascinating interview with Jimmy, touching on subjects that many if not most Burt Bacharach fans will love and appreciate. Of course, Jimmy devotes much praise to Burt's innovative songwriting--including a couple great clasically infused piano improvisations that Jimmy performs on early Burt hits--and how both Burt and Beatles producer George Martin influenced his approach to songwriting. Jimmy's piano playing in church as a young boy is also illuminating. Great stuff.

Thanks for posting. Rick's been getting some great interviews over the past few years, and this is another coup for his channel.

His videos analyzing Jim Croce's "Operator" and Gordon Lightfoot's "If You Could Read My Mind" were great--those songs were both part of the audio wallpaper of my youth, and I'd never really listened to either closely.
