I just stumbled on to this forum. I am a composer-singer-songwriter in Los Angeles and I do Burt Bacharach-Hal David tribute shows. I have met Burt twice and am friendly with Hal's son, Jim.

Looking forward to participating here.

Welcome! Just joined too. I am from Chile, but have my home in NY now. Thinking about going to Bacharach's next concert on December 14th in Los Angeles. I feel I can't miss that show!

I know a good violinist in LA who can help with sessions 8)
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is.

I used to score TV series like “Zorro” and low budget films where I had enough of a budget to hire great musicians here in LA, but nowadays it’s all so low budget that it’s mostly me and my samples in Logic Pro. I am good at it but I miss those days.

Welcome Jay! There had been some issues with registration to the forum for a while that had to do with spam countermeasures, but I think they're fixed. Let's hope the spam stays under control. In the meantime, if anyone is in contact with someone who can't log in and can't register, please send me a PM and I'll send you my private email address to share with them so we can figure it out. Unfortunatey, the webmaster @ bacharachonline.com address gets so much spam, the occasional real messages get lost in the inbox.

Thanks and happy holidays!

Mark, the spammers don't appear to be having problems with the registration process and since mid-October almost 300 spam topics have been posted. All these have been deleted (so far) and the perpetrators banned but back they come with new names.

Hello everyone! My name is Bob, 32 years old and I just joined. Been to Bacharach's concert on Dec 13 in Beverly Hills, California. Amazing show! Loved it a lot. Waiting for him to come to Portugal as I am in search of apartments to buy in Algarve here. Let's hope he will have a tour in 2020 in Europe

Jay this is amazing. I always love hearing everybodys out of town as I feel its obscure to most people who are not Burt fanatics. Your rendition of Alfie was truly beautiful your passion and inflection was delectable. Looking forward to your other works.

Thank you for the very kind words.

If you are interested, I released an album of my songs two years ago. You may hear some influences :)
