I have the original release on cd and listen to it in my car while traveling..its a lot of fun!
By the way, I recently read on the web, that although this was not the first Bond film,
that it was Ian Fleming's first Bond story(hope Im remembering this correctly)

Fleming's intelligence work in the Naval Intelligence Division provided the background for his spy novels. In 1953, his first novel was published, Casino Royale, in which the British Intelligence agent James Bond, also famously known by his code number, 007, was introduced to the world.

From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Fleming

Little did he know, when he wrote the book, what great music Burt would write for it's movie adaptation.

You may find it of interest to note that Ian Fleming died when he was only 56.

Nymusicals,
Enjoyed reading about the remastering of Burt's film score, and it was interesting to hear how the tape got damaged while making the original cd...the audio tape masters from the
late 60's and early 70's (mostly the early 70's) were problematic, and the layers tended to stick together, and and iron oxide tended to flake off....(having experienced this myself)
but whatever process they used with remastering by using a pristine vinyl record must
have worked out great, cause the reviews are excellent!
Thanks for posting!

Hello Blue!
If this is the tune I'm thinking of,(and its one of them in The Royale score))Little French Boy's tune was partially based on(either conciously or unconciously) my old friend Julian Davidson's tune Wistful and BLue(1926) a big hit for Ruth Etting at that time...done in the Guy Lombardo style+plus Bacharach strings, lol it ..has that old time feel...and indeed is a marvelous cut!

Hi steveo,
I don't know about that ?
It just reminds me a little of "The Old Fun City" from "Butch Cassidy"......one of those brilliant
"quirky" little instrumentals Burt often wrote for his film scores.

Yup Blue,
Its that old time sound with wide vibrato in the saxes, etc.....
I love that he brought it back for those quirky instrumentals...

To all;

This is from the group called; 'The Loser's Lounge.' You had to be there in person to appreciate Nick Danger's performance!

It was just wonderful!! Saw the tribute to Burt Bacharach 2 years ago in the Village in New York City.

Take care;
