The best version of "The Way We Were"

Doesn't belong to Barbara Streisand imo. I am partial to Eydie Gorme's various versions.In some circles that could be blasphemous but i feel the sentiment of the song more when Eydie sings it. She is probably one of the best singers of all time. It is a pity she became more of a variety act and never got quality material tailor made for her. Considering she had Brill Buiding connections there were no shortage of composers and writers who could have written beautiful songs for her.
