Looking through my vast CD collection last night, I came across a spare copy of the above CD which I had forgotten about. How did I get two copies? Owners of the CD may have read in the booklet notes I had a tiny contribution to the making of it, with the executive producer Gabriel Raya saying "Great thanks to Barry Pugh for his unselfish support." I do not see the continual need for two copies, so before it goes on e bay, I would rather offer it to someone on this forum. I can recall a couple of members wishing to obtain it a couple of years ago, but perhaps they have found a copy. Anyway, this is a brand new, unplayed CD sent to me by Contante and Sonante as a gift for my involvement. I will put it on e bay should there be no response.

Hello Barry—I was devastated when I found out that the CD was no longer available. I certainly would love to have it. Please tell me the procedures to take in order to obtain it. It features one of my favorite vocalists–the late, great Warren Wiebe.

Hello Bruce. I believe you were one of the gentlemen who posted you would like a copy some while ago. You are the first person to contact me, so you will be pleased to know that you will be the one to have it! The other reason I am keen for you to have it is that you are a great admirer of the late, great Warren Wiebe, who is also one of my favourite singers. It's amazing how many vocalists (both male and female) who are not household names, but should be, and Warren is right at the top of my list. Here are some others for your interest. Perhaps you like some of these: Michael Ruff, Marc Jordan, Michael Sembello, Richard Page, Anita Kerr, Jane Monheit, Carol Welsman, Monica Mancini, Melissa Errico, Melody Gardot and Kevyn Lettau!! My favourite composers (apart from Burt) are Jimmy Webb, Michel Legrand, Ennio Morricone and Dave Grusin. Anyway Bruce, just make a reasonable offer and I will send it out. My e mail address is: aspprod2000@yahoo.co.uk

Hello Bruce. I sent you a message regarding the CD, but have heard no more from you. Perhaps you are on vacation or have changed your mind. Should I not hear anything from you by Friday, I will make it available to any member of the forum.

Hello Barry. I see that I am a little late to this thread haha, but I noticed that nobody else commented here after Bruce didn't respond. Is there any chance that you still have that extra copy of the Burt and Tonio K. "Original Demos" CD? I am 24 years old, but I was introduced to Burt Bacharach at a very young age by my parents who have always encouraged my love for music. Burt influenced me to want to learn piano, and has been a very special musician in my life. I also am a lover of Warren Wiebe as a vocalist, and have many recordings that feature his talents. I would love to be able to add this CD to my collection of Burt's music. Please let me know if you would still be willing to give up your extra copy if you have it! I would even be happy to just have the mp3 files if you could spare them.
Thank you, Dan.

Hello Dan. Very nice to hear from you, and especially since you rate the talents of Warren Wiebe, who, along with David Foster, Burt discovered Warren during February 1987 whilst he was performing at the Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles. Within a few months of that event, Warren was performing with a 80 piece orchestra as the lead vocalist in Foster's band and performing throughout Canada. Anyway, back to your query. Unfortunately, someone else sharply came along for that wonderful out of print CD, BUT Dan, I would be happy to make you a copy of it if you so wish, along with the artwork, so you virtually have the next best thing. My e mail address is: aspprod2000@yahoo.co.uk Incidentally I have most of Warren's solo work, which has been compiled over the years - what a vocalist! Sad how these wonderful musicians never get household recognition. Two more in particular that come to my mind are: Michael Ruff, and the legendary Anita Kerr, who I have written her biography, with a foreword from Burt himself. I am just waiting (and waiting) for Anita's approval to publish it!
