After listening to Burts music through the years I have come to realize there is probably much more Jewish influence in his music than the other Brill Building composers who were mostly Jewish for the most part. Most people knows the Jazz influence, the latin, and most def the Brazilian influence(Jobim) but there is a strong traditional Jewish element there not discussed much. Here is an exhibit

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luH-j8VsRTI( instrumental from Arthur "Money")

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FIfYOL19_Y ''Nikki" (ugggh prob one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qK7nbdW ... ztRXw3ulpW (the sundance kid)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p63dLKu ... pW&index=4( South American Getaway has elements of Jewish choir music like at 155 and 225 sounds like parts of John WIlliams Schindlers List Score. The main score actually mimics the slower parts of the song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNrVFkBDte8

ill find more examples later. Let me know if anyone agrees.

There's a whole album around this topic, released on John Zorn's label:

Heavy stuff in parts, but worth listening. There are many aspects to Burt's music that still have to be discovered ...

Are these simply jewish musicians doing an arrangement of Bacharach? Is it suppose to be classicaly Jewish? Not sure I got that impression.

This album is part of a series about Jewish composers, Jewish musicians, Jewish culture and the question: What means "Jewish content"? So there is a bit more behind this album but just arrangements of Bacharach.

You might find some answers to your question in the article on the Tzadik website by producer John Zorn:
