Milton Nascimento`s first album (I think) shares a few tracks with his first A&M album, Courage:

I know that some are aware of him, but his prolific recording career is little known in the U. S. (Then, what isn`t "little known" here?)

Go to Spotify and call up his "Original Albums Series." There are five included.

I really like this Blair! ... I will check out some of this Brazilian artist's other recordings. ... Agree with your "little known here" comment - I discovered another International star (from Spain) - Alejandro Sanz after seeing him perform 2 songs on a Christmas special which also featured Dionne and Randy Crawford. So many great artists - so little time!

Ron, I think you`ll like these two albums as well.
In `72 Sergio Mendes made his last album for A&M. Whether to atone for the attrition of Brasilian music on his recent albums or to store up Karmic brownie points for the egregious acts of prostitution he was about to commit with Bell Records, Primal Roots lived up to its name and is still an unacknowledged classic:

I lost track of him for roughly twenty years until I somehow heard of Brasiliero. It`s still primal - rooted but the songs are contemporary. Had there been a Brasil `92 (and shouldn`t there have been?) this is what it would have sounded like (not least because Gracinha is here):

I like this too, kind of a melange of Nat King Cole, Dionne on Aquarela do Brasil, and some strings to fill
