Where was Dionne, Barbra, and Al?

Post by Bruce Bernard Williams »

Sitting here watching the Grammy's Tribute to the Bee Gees and just wondering where were the likes of Dionne (“Heartbreaker"), Barbra (“Guilty”), and, of course, Al Green (“How Do You Mend A Broken Heart?”)? I expected to see at least one of them if not all three. The presentation was still good but I think the inclusion of at least one of the three aforementioned artists would have really put the icing on the cake.

You and I think alike. I'd include Kenny and Dolly on the list of "Where were they?" ... At least their super hits "Islands In The Stream" and "Guilty" were part of the show. .... No mention of Dionne or her big International single and album "HEARTBREAKER". ... I have no idea what goes on behind closed doors when programs like these are produced; however, I would not be surprised to hear that "Dionne's very public disdain for the song was a factor in the decision to exclude even a mention of the song, album or artist.
