I wonder how many members remember this theme, it accompanied those 'Martini' commercials on British TV in the late Sixties and early Seventies.
I always thought Burt had composed it, wrong as usual it was a composer called Chris Gunning ? ......you could have fooled me !

Those Martini ads hark back to a time when foreign travel seemed to be exclusive to the rich and glamorous, hence the term 'The Jet-Set'. Out of all the songs written especially for British ads this was probably the most memorable, although I never thought for one moment that Bacharach had anything to with the music, it's just very typical of its time.

True, it's a product of it's time but I always thought Burt had composed it.
Or very heavily 'influenced' by him.

You know, Blue, I guessed you were a Martini Man. This is one from those series of ads I remember seeing back in the 70s and, yes, it's a nice tune.

Dear Blue,

Chris Gunning is also a noted arranger/conductor, here's one of my favorites from 1975, also noted for being the first cover version of a Bruce
Springsteen song, "Sandy (4th of July Asbury Park)" by the Hollies:

Vastly underrated composer...
Reminds me a little of John Barry.

Blue, the obvious John Barry influence is probably why he may be underrated.

Do you remember how the song from the Martini ad was chopped and changed to become 'Dancing Easy', a UK Top 30 hit for Danny Williams during the disco craze in 1977?
