Additional date for Burt in London

Demand for the concert at the Royal Festival Hall on 26 June has been such that an extra date has been added. Following the concerts in Glasgow and Edinburgh Burt & Co will return to the RFH for an additional concert on Sunday 7 July.

From the RFH web site:

Burt Bacharach needs little introduction.

In a landmark 50-plus-year run on the charts, Bacharach's music continues to set industry records and creative standards.

Bacharach's global audiences span several generations. He is viewed as the unique combination of one of the greatest composers of all time and the ultra-cool, cult hero of the contemporary-music set who often has several songs on various music charts in many countries simultaneously.

Due to popular demand, we have added an extra performance on Sunday 7 July.

I know it's exciting etc but I've seen Burt et al at the RFH before and will it be just the same? I'd prefer Dionne at the Cheltenham Jazz fesival!! Sorry to stir!

Well the show has been given a boost by Bill Cantos. Bill is the one who sings " my little red book" While Josie and Donna channel Dionne and the divas, and John Pagano is the Tom Jones / male lead, Bill Cantos is the key to the band interpretations, like Manfred Mann.
He is a great singer/songwriter in his own set of genres and if you havent seen Burt's show recently, his "spark" adds to the mix.

Now what I say is my own opinion and has no subtext or any official backing by anyone. I hope Dionne's Cheltenham shows go well for her: it can only boost Burt's fan base

A couple of days ago, when Barry posted about the extra concert, I went here http://www.southbankcentre.co.uk/venues ... tival-hall and, by cliking on "ALL EVENTS AT THIS VENUE", I was able to find Burt. Now it is neither on the first page nor next to the other events, where I found it before. (Yes, I looked for it more than once and then used the IE "find-on-this-page" search engine and it did find other names on the page, but not Burt or Bacharach.) Only a deliberate name search would bring up the concert dates and seat availability.
They are in effect saying that Burt will not be playing at the RFH. What the heck...

Not sure what you mean, Rio. As far as I know, Burt is still scheduled to play the Royal Festival Hall on June 26 and July 7, with two dates in Scotland and the one in Bournemouth in between.

With our many insiders, this board usually has more up-to-date info about Burt's concert schedule than the main On Tour listing, but I do post all dates as soon as I receive word that they're confirmed, so it's usually a pretty safe bet that the shows listed there will indeed take place.

Thanks, Mark!
I was (and still am) pretty sure, based on the tour dates at Bacharachonline and what others have said, that the shows are indeed scheduled.
I basically was just unhappy with the fact that http://www.southbankcentre.co.uk/venues ... tival-hall says nothing about the concert and sends you to "all events at this [RFH] venue", where there is nothing about Burt's concerts. If one already expects the concert at the RFH, then the search engine provided by that site can be used to find the concert. But otherwise, the site is totally misleading. That's what bothered me. I kind of wondered what on earth would make them do something like that. It ought to be deliberate. (Or not?!)
