A "long lost" track composed by the"British Bacharach" Tony Hatch !
Performed by the legendary Scott Walker...a truly great singer !

Hope you enjoy it,

Thanks for this lovely song and a fine, sensitive performance.

As I listened to Scott Walker sing this piece, his style reminded me so much of Tony Bennett. Does anyone else hear what I'm hearing?

Mr Bennett has been performing that song as part of his repertoire for a few years now - you may have heard it subconsciously somewhere? Otherwise, a true coincidence!!

Hi, According to Paul Howes in the CD booklet for "Classic & Collectibles" by Scott Walker, "Joanna" was written for film "Joanna" by Tony Hatch and his wife, Jackie Trent, directed by Michael Sarne (who also directed "Myra Breckinridge"!) but never used in that film. He also states that the song reached #7 on the British charts in May 1968.

Andrew and grooverider,
Thank you very much for the info !
I never knew "Joanna" was originally composed for a film...
Or that Tony Bennett had ever sang it ?
