One of my BB favourites this one - Great piano, great strings & great Burt!

I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on what the flute-like instrument is that opens the song. Is it a wooden flute or perhaps something else? I just always wonder when I hear it.

Thanks
Andrew

I have always found the following to be one of the more interesting pieces of music from the Lost Horizon score (almost has a tribal feel to it):

I love this! But tell me, if I told you that this was written my Morricone, wouldn't you agree?

It is my view that Burt could have been one of the greatest movie composers of all time had he had the desire. He's as good a movie composer as anyone. I've wondered for a long time why he hadn't scored more movies. (I hear a little voice in my head now saying "What? 600 songs isn't enough for you? Give the guy a break, will you?!") I mean, really, when you consider Burt's output, it's incredible!
