Burt blog

Has anyone else found this blog-work that Burt did in 2006?

Any comments anyone?

Re: Burt in Italy!

Thanks guys - London to Rome for a weekend for a BB concert sounds wonderful.

Where can I book tickets for the Rome concert on-line? Is there a reliable Italian ticket agency?

Ciao.

PS Milan 0-5 Chelsea ?! Crazy.

Nope, can't agree. The Carpenters sing:

"so they sprinkled moondust in your hair,
and golden starlight in your eyes of blue".... diddly ooh, diddly ooh...

Re: Waltzes

I've thought of another good one - Mr. Guder by the Carpenters has 3/4 and 4/4 sections within it; 3/4 seems to cause a spinning, quickening and almost unstable effect. Just as in the George Michael track.

so, is it easy to write a song?

So here we all are, in awe of BB and HD. I find new pleasure every time I put on a BB-HD CD - dig out Hasbrook Heights of you don't know what I mean. But how easy is it to write songs? Has any one tried? How long does it take - an hour, a day, a week? I can play the piano a bit, I'm not bad (I can ...

If you like Burt, you'll love this...

Funny how us Burt-afficionados seem to mutually enjoy certain non-Burt music (eg. note the previous posts on Philly and Swing Out Sister). I bet there's no-one out there who dislikes the swerving chord arrangements and piano of this arrangement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3kO5zdTOhg&featur...

Re: Serene's assessment of Who Is Gonna Love Me

I think we could do a whole forum on this book. I bought it 2 months ago and am still in the mid 1970s! Fr'instance, someone please tell me Burt didn't really write a song called "Peggy's In the Pantry"! And how about Serene on The Look of Love: "it proved to be one of the elite grou...

Re: great trailer

Everything you read says this was a disaster for Burt - dunno, I was too young!!! - but the swirling sound of "The World is a Circle" is superb, children or not.

Certainly looks very trendy now. If it keeps the hackers and Russian porn (remember last year) out, fine! How do you cover the costs of hosting the site, Mark?

Buried bits of Burt

Go to 8 min 57 secs of this Swing Out Sister track - isn't Wives and Lovers buried in there?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DEnlplK ... re=related

Does anyone know any other artists who have buried or sampled Burt into their recordings?

Re: Hazell Dean - The Sound Of Bacharach & David

I assume you're from the UK, whatsitallabout - Hazell Dean was a most unexpected popstar when I was at University in the early 80's. She sang a soon forgotten sound called Hi-NRG. I never knew she did a BB album - let me know if you locate it please!
