Bacharach songs with no Bacharach elements in them
So we have looked at other composers producing in a Bacharach style but every now and then Bacharach has composed songs that are void of all the typicall nuances and idiosynacracies we have come to know and love. Needless to say they likely wont be at the top of the list of many Bacharach fans. I of...

Wow never heard this. Never heard of it. Sounds like Hal squeezed this out in 5 minutes. I appreciate anything new I can hear of the maestro tho.

Rare Bacharach songs from the 60s/70s
There has never been a thread dedicated to rare Bacharach songs. These are he songs that I assume only Bacharach obsessed people would know and maybe not even. Any song I stumble upon that I haven't heard before as someone who has looked high and low for Bacharach's music must be rare. Here goes Jim...

Re: Another great song that sounds like Bacharach
Maxine Brown/Goffin King " Its gonna be all right" sounds like an early 60s Bacharach track especially with Cissy Houston and maybe Dee Dee Warwick?? on background.

It feels and sounds brighter than the previous versions. You did an amazing job. Would love to hear covers of more rarer Bacharach songs. Can i suggest loneliness remembers and here i am?

Re: Im obsessed with Brenda Reid from The Exciters voice!!
I was going through the Remember Us? album. I particularly enjoyed the slower ones: So Long, Goodnight and Drama of Love. Also gave the Brenda & Herb (she and her husband) album - IN HEAT AGAIN ! a spin. Mid 70's disco. The angst may have gone but she could still blow ! Interesting!!! Im a such...

The coolest White soul group you never heard of
I checked with my folks and everyone I know who was around in the late 60s and no one has heard of them. Have you? The them are a group from North Philly called the Destinations. You can't even call them a one hit wonder because they never had a hit. However I stumbled on this song that makes unrequ...

The Delfonics you cant be loving him. Thom Bell is always good for a good Burt impersonation in the studio. This actually sounds more Royalettes/Randazzo who for me is a cousin to Burt(musically)

Re: Another great song that sounds like Bacharach
Fair enough...but it doesn`t change my mind. :D Also keep in mind Burt has a couple different sounds. The brassy swingy tin pan alley jives(promises promises, do you know the way to san jose) , the slow somber piano ballads(here i am, windows of the world, alfie), rock and roll(promise her anything...

Re: Another great song that sounds like Bacharach
Guys, if 416,000 songs "sounded like" Bacharach, there would be nothing unique about his compositions. A "leap" and a couple of odd intervals do not a Bacharach song make. This is an irrelevant topic and I really wish it could be taken down. :D Does this mean im in trouble? I ki...

Re: Who is Bacharach's second best writing partner?
If Bob Hilliard hadn't died in 1971 at the uncommonly young age of fifty-three I suppose there was every chance that he would have resumed writing with Bacharach when the latter's partnership with Hal David broke down after the Lost Horizon debacle. I recall Bacharach speaking very warmly about Hil...
