Is it possible to choose a fave Bacharach song?

Wouldn't that be up there with choosing your fave child? Well If i must I would probably choose Dionne Warwick's The Begginning of Loneliness. Its like a cannon buried under flowers its starts out mellow and just builds into the chorus with so much dramatic flair and the timpani drums are just immac...

Re: No one told me Michael Jackson and Burt worked together.

I applaud you 'Blue on Blue.' for disagreeing. "Sometimes Late at Night" is one of my favorite albums of all time (along with: Beach Boys "Pet Sounds" - Stephen Bishop "Careless" - Kenny Loggins "Leap of Faith" - Billy Joel "The Stranger" - Michael ...

Re: No one told me Michael Jackson and Burt worked together.

After all these years I attempted to listen the Carole Bayer Sager album this track is on. I hate to say this but it was really bad and i mean really really bad not even Burt could save it. I have a new respect now for Hals relationship in the tandem and the triad(where Dionne is concerned). Carole...

Re: Rare Bacharach songs from the 60s/70s

I love all of the early Burt songs! I don‘t know how Burt himself would feel about this tune but I love it and it always gives me a smile. Campy and catchy! Love the jumpy arrangement. From 1956, Sherry Parsons sings “Peggy‘s In The Pantry“. https://moochinaboutltd.bandcamp.com/track/peggys-in-the-...

Gene McDaniels In times like these. (1959). The last 30 seconds is as close as you will get to heaven on this side of earth. Whoever arranged those vocals thank you.

Another version... 'blue' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHiK0Rf1hFQ I updated my post without seeing yours first. It didnt go thru when i lost wifi yesterday lol. Margaret Whitings version is even more true to form and is probably the earliest indicator of where Bacharach was kinda going as the 6...

No one told me Michael Jackson and Burt worked together.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlGp1ZppgLk in 1981 Mike and Carole Bayer Sager worked on a beautiful duet called " Just Friends". I was today's years old when I heard this for the first time. I really don't dwelve into Burt's work passed the mid 70s so if sorry if anyone is rolling their ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVtXT42Tkpk My fave song from probably one of the most unsung Brill Building acts. Shangri Las " Never Again. While I am aware they do have somewhat of an underground diehard following they really are unknown. Neither of my parents ever heard of them so I figured...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsEz42Du7kI Joyce Alexander " here i come" . The artist and recording seem to have western roots(Socal) but has a northern soul vibe to it. I just love how genteel songs of the 60s sound no matter what they are singing about. Is a catchy song about taking so...

Obscure songs of the 60s and 70s Bacharach fans might like

I remember back in 2002 when my parents, my brother and I went on our late summer trip before school started back and my dad was playing the greatest hits of Dionne Warwick ironically it was the first season of American Idol and they had a Bacharach medley. I cant explain it but something about that...
