Re: Promises, Promises returns to the London stage in 2017

I hope they use a full orchestra with the original arrangements. Otherwise the people are getting cheated, IMHO.

Re: 'Freefall'

I've often wondered what instrument Burt used at 2:22 in 'Freefall' Apparently it's called the 'Vibraslap'.......just some more useless information. lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqowrsrQ-EY Some more info... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gu4_uwQWA-g 'blue' I always wondered what that was a...

I know. However, I think it's bad etiquette (if not downright rude) to differentiate a parent's children like that and to put them into 2 categories.

Re: Burt Bacharach Talks with Eric Blair

Thanks, Vincent. Loved the interview. I don't know why the interviewer said "biological" children though? All his children are his children. No need for "biological," right? And glad to see that Burt's not one of those kooks who thinks vaccines cause autism. No scientist says tha...

'blue'
Absolutely! And I love what the backup singers are singing -- so integral to the song itself! (And that piano playing!)

Re: Burt and Bob Hilliard

One of Burt's greatest melodies! Such pathos (as you say) and such longing. And such a great song for slow dancing. And, again, with hits like this, I can't help wondering why Burt and Hilliard didn't stay together as a team after such success.

Re: Put Your Youtube.com Links Here! (if you want)

I absolutely LOVE "Live Again" and I've had it on my ipod for many years now. That song is more proof of Burt's genius. I love the piano playing on that record, too... and I don't think it's Burt's playing either. We discussed this song here a number of years ago also. I don't know why it ...

Burt and Bob Hilliard

I wonder why Burt didn't continue writing songs with Bob Hilliard. I think Burt found greater success with Hilliard in those early years considering that they wrote two big hits together -- Tower of Strength and Any Day Now. So I'm thinking why wouldn't Burt have forged a more permanent alliance wit...

Re: "Lisa"

I'll never forget getting Burt's album "Reach Out" and hearing "Lisa" for the first time. I remember thinking, "Did Burt write this?" Because it did not have that unique Bacharach sound. It's a song that, perhaps, even Gershwin could have written. Even though I liked th...
