Blue, Paul Frees was probably the most famous voice actor in history... but unknown to the public. His list is long of his voice overs... a lot for Disneyland... Haunted Mansion-Pirates of the Carribean-Monsanto Ride(Inner Space) Ludwog Von Drake(DisneyCartoon Character) Boris battenoff(Rocky and Bu...

Doing a little "web" research off of Brian Wilson's site...apparently
the name of one song that Brian and Burt co-wrote is entitled
"What Love Can Do"
we "hope" we hear the result of these 2 "aural" geniuses soon!

OK Gang, Here We GO.....

Now, As you realize, Burt and Hal wrote songs with the idea of pitching them to legitimate top 40 singers, who tried ( and oftern succeeded ) to make hit records. Now, What I want to know is... What actors or dancers used Bacharach-David material on TV or on an album? It's a tough question, but I ca...

Doris Wanted To Be More Pop/Rock Oriented

Come the year 1964...Terry Melcher was producing great hits for Columbia Records...He ALSO was recording his mom Doris Day who was signed to Columbia... Burt had written a song for a Doris Day Movie, and he was unable to arrange it for Doris..so he wrote a note to Terry's associate, JAck Nitzsche, a...

The Chik or Chink Guitar Part

MAny of you are asking...(i know, i know...I can tell....lol) who the talented guitarist was, playing a "no-intonation" or chick sounding part on the early Burt Bacharach or Bacharach\Warwick records was..This was kind of a "sound effect", almost like a tambourine, heard on such ...

Blue, I have not heard Ron's version, but I wood say anything he does with Burt is spectacular! BY the way, It's interesting to note that listening to the structure of the song, Burt takes part of the melody at the beginning and uses it as instrumental. I can't help but feel there were lyrics there ...

Scotsgreg, I recall you mentioning you felt that Dionne's version was cabaretish or award showish..I don't feel that at all about her version...It's simply the best... Perhaps the echo on the track makes you think of it that way..the record is kind of "glob" of sound in mono...but I love i...

Blue on Blue, It's quite possible that you heard Burt shouting "more" on that recording. This is something he did a lot in the 60's and 70's... If you are listening to a cd version, It's possible the remix might have included that.... (I don't know -I only have the vinyl version.) Regardin...

Searching for Info on Tony Velona

Hi Folks, I am searching biographical information and pics of a songwriter who had a great hit. His song was not dissimilar to B. Bacharach...his name was Tony Velona and I tracked one of his last known addresses to Compton, Ca. (South Los Angeles) He, I found out, is deceased, but he wrote a gem of...

Hi Vincent, Further research indicates Cher's version peaking at no.32.. while Joannie Summers had a version which peaked higher (but I don't remember than one, I'll admit) Well, I got interested in Burt in 1968...but his music completely took over my head in MArch of 1970 when I went backstage at t...
