Alvina and Pamela,

I just got tickets for the Friday night show in San Diego! I'm not sure what time I'll get there, but I'd love to meet up with you and say hi in person. Send me an email and we'll work out a plan.

See you Friday!

"Raindrops" and "My Little Red Book" also spring to my mind when I think of songs that got me interested in Bacharach. I mentioned "connecting the dots" in my first post. That really describes how I first became interested in Bacharach's music. I had grown up with his m...

The following is a post from the old Bacharach message board: In short, there's no album in which Bacharach sings on several tracks. Burt sings... SONG (ALBUM) A House Is Not A Home (part of it) (Reach Out, 1967) Make It Easy On Yourself (Same title album, 1969) Close To You {part of it) (Burt Bacha...

Lost Horizon was released on laser disc a few years back and the isolated instrumental score was part of that package. I got a cassette of it I could dub for you (if I can find it) or perhaps someone could burn you a CD of it.

Dennis, it was Raven Records from Australia that released The Rare Bacharach Vol. 1.

There's no mention of a volume two on its Web site, http://www.ravenrecords.com.au/

What song first made you appreciate Bacharach & David?

I don't mean the first song you heard by Bacharach & David but the first one that made an impression on you, enough of an impression for you to make a mental note of the composer rather than just the performer. For me it was "Where Can You Take a Girl," which I heard sometime in the mi...

"Money" is a hidden gem that features a classic Bacharach melody. It reminds me slightly of "Little French Boy" from the Casino Royale soundtrack. A lot of Burt's Bayer Sager-era compositions are arranged with synthesizers and keyboards that virtually scream '80s. Alec Cum...

What were Burt's best of the 80s?

I'm currently formatting the update to Davide Bonori's discography for the site, and I'm noticing that there are quite of few Bacharach compositions from the 1980s--the Bayer Sager era mostly--that I'm unfamiliar with. I know the hits, but certain album tracks from artists like Neil Diamond, Patti L...

Alfie23, Did you send me an email? I must have overlooked it somehow. I'd love to post your photos as well as the photos of everyone else who saw Burt in Italy. You can email them to me at webmaster@bacharachonline.com. If you send them to me today (Friday, 30 July) I can get them up immediately. If...

Thanks for the great report, Carlo. I would have loved to have been there to witness this historic meeting between Burt and two of the world's most renowned Bacharach scholars/fans. You, Roberto and Davide almost certainly know more about Burt's many compositions than he does himself. It would have ...

If I'm not mistaken, Ron expressed some interest in including "Wives and Lovers" on Here I Am , but Burt--and no doubt Ron's handlers--decided it was too politically incorrect for contemporary sensibilities. Which it is. But it's still a great song. With all due respect to Jack Jones, Burt...

Thanks for the input, Ron. Your problem is the exact one that makes this a difficult feature to implement. Anybody want to help me try out a new feature?

Back in the early days of this site, I used to have a feature where I invited fans to email me with their Top 10 favorite Bacharach compositions of all time. I'd run their responses and then, in theory, I'd compile their choices, giving their top pick 10 points, their 2nd favorite 9 points, their th...
