Re: Omg I cant believe Burt Bacharach didnt write this
Blair and Enormous: From 1:40 to the end is as Bacharachian as you can get without Bacharach himself composing. It has the spirit save maybe a few instruments here and there. I was impressed with the subtleties like the short horn solo at 1:50. Who does that but Bacharach himself? You guys are too h...

Re: Omg I cant believe Burt Bacharach didnt write this
Bacharach idiosyncracies are extremely unique and make him very hard to duplicate. I think Wilson held his own and then some seeing as how I was able to recognize the song was in an attempted Bacharach style before reading that was his intentions in the liner notes.

Re: Omg I cant believe Burt Bacharach didnt write this
An artist named Sean Macreavy put lyrics to the tune and made it sound even more Bacharach/ Davidesque.

Re: Omg I cant believe Burt Bacharach didnt write this
found this quote from Wilson on wikipedia "if you want to know the truth, I think Burt Bacharach had influenced me a little bit with that. If you really analyzeit and you think about it, there were a lot of chord changes similar to the way he would put something together. And I think that his m...

Re: Omg I cant believe Burt Bacharach didnt write this
That is beyond tribute!!!! That is a cerebral clone. I hate to admit it but parts of the song were even more beautiful than a typical Bacharach tune because they introduced the classic pet sounds themes into Bacharachs latin soft jazz and created heaven on earth. Always glad to run into a gem like t...

Re: Original Song
This song is so great I don't know what else to say. You can tell you are a true Bacharach fan. I would take out the cheap midi instrument though. If you replace that you have a masterpiece.

Re: Original Song
Really good. I hear the BB/HD influences. I am not sure what your full instrumentation would consist of or whether you would keep it stripped down like that but it would be interesting to see what it would sound like finished. You and the song have alot of potential.

Re: Another rare Bacharach tune
This one is called "Who's Got the Action?" I'd never heard of it, nor had I heard of the singer, Phil Colbert. I like it! While the arrangement is not Burt's (and it shows; an example, I guess, of how in the early years the honchos didn't trust him to do his own arranging and producing) i...

I like this board but at times it is really dead. My apologies if that applies to anyone literally.
