My choice would have to be Here I Am and The look Of Love - I wasn't really aware of Mr B's work when I first saw What's New Pussycat?, but Here I am haunted me for years - a beautiful song! I later used it as an audition piece for a music college I attended!

Totally agree - When I first heard 'My Thief' I found myself rewinding the cd and listening to that end vocal over and over!

Anyone know if Lisa has any solo projects out there?

Isn't she great

'Isn't she great' was aired on BBC1 here in the uk a few nights ago - It's the first time I've seen the film and heard the soundtrack. Burt's music was again outstanding and I thought Dionne's vocal on the main theme was also really good. I couldn't help noticing that the incidental music was very m...

For me, I think it was really listening to A House Is Not A Home in the early 80s that made me sit up and learn about this name 'Bacharach' that I kept stumbling across. I'd heard a few songs from my dad's Andy Williams LPs and 'Alfie' was a family favourite on the piano, but AHINAH was the one that...

Swingle Singers/Anita Kerr

I've always thought it was the Swingle Singers who provided the ba-da-dabba-das' on Burt's South American Getaway :? but a friend recently suggested it was actually Anita Kerr and singers. Does anyone have any further info on this?
Thanks

Bacharach music in ads

British Gas used the song 'Something Big' in one of their commercials here in the uk last year, also there is a Sandals Caribbean Resorts ad running at the moment using 'What the World Needs Now'. Off the subject slightly, my sister was telling me she saw a group of visiting nuns singing 'Say a Litt...

New project

Whatever Burt comes out with - I'm sure it will suprise and delight us all! Personally, I do hope he doesn't attempt to write just for chart success, as it's often his lesser known pieces that I find inspiring. Just for the record, Will Young didn't have a hit at all with the track Burt wrote for hi...
