Re: Pizzicato Five sing Bacharach.

Jim,
Regarding their superb version of 'Baby It's You' it's the Flugelhorn, Burt's signature sound.

pljms wrote: Sun Sep 24, 2023 3:28 am I wonder when or even if we'll get to hear what were allegedly the last two songs Bacharach and Daniel Tashian wrote together, 'Starlight Hotel' and 'You're In My Heart Now'. Apparently Tashian was putting the finishing touches to both songs at the time of Burt's death.
Let's hope so.

'Moon Over Wichita' (cover versions)

A cover of a recent Bacharach/Tashian composition...I know little or nothing about the singer.

And Karen Carpenter ?

Re: The First UK A-side release of 'Close to You'

Jim, thank you for the clip, Adrienne handles the song really well.

It reminds me of something Dionne once said to Bacharach... "Burt, why don't you write something simple ?"

Re: Would Burt approve?

I remember Noel Gallagher mentioning in a Bacharach documentary that he stole the chords of 'This Guy's In Love With You' for this song.
"I'm surprised he (Burt) hasn't sued me yet ?"

Jim Dixon wrote: Sun Jul 16, 2023 9:00 am There is a very basic sheet music version in this book:

Basically just the melody and chord names.
Jim, thank you...a real "find" very much appreciated. :D
