"Moon Guitar" is indeed a BB/HD song, though the lyrics haven't been recorded or indeed, ever surfaced.
It was actually the first credited BB/HD production as recorded in 1961 by the Rangoons on Laurie 3096.
Hope this helps!

Re: Promises, Promises
Totally agreed, BB Fan. I will stress that Jonathan Tunick is still orchestrating...it remains to be seen whether he will be reducing his original orchestrations (highly likely, and very unfortunate) or the production is simply using his originals, and enlisting him to write a new orchestration for ...

Re: Promises, Promises
Hi -- sorry for the confusion. "You'll Think of Someone" is currently Fran's first song (a duet with Chuck) in the show...I can picture the director squeezing in a scene prior to that song, in which Fran could sing "I Say A Little Prayer" as her opening number. The lyrics could w...

Re: Promises, Promises
I'm insanely disappointed that the director of the upcoming revival trusts the score so little that he feels the need to interpolate "I Say A Little Prayer" into it. Apparently the song WAS performed in the recent workshop presentation which led to this revival, and so it WILL be included....

Dionne's NO NIGHT SO LONG to finally hit CD...
FYI, I wanted to share this item I posted on another music forum - Dionne Warwick's 1980 Arista album, NO NIGHT SO LONG, is finally getting a wide CD release (a previous Japanese pressing quickly became a rarity) according to Amazon UK & Dionne's fan club. They show a March 29/30 release date on...

Re: Discussion Board is STale
Promisesx2, little is known about the three Bacharach/Simon songs recorded by Dionne in her short-lived '74 reunion session with Burt: "Plastic City" (no relation to Stephanie Mills' "Living On Plastic"), "And Then You Know What He Did", and "And Then He Walked Thr...

Re: Promises Promises back to Broadway.
Great news, Steve. I'd heard on the Broadway grapevine that "I Say A Little Prayer" would be part of the show...a rumor that most likely started due to that ad copy. If it were true, it would singlehandedly be the most wrong-headed decision imaginable. I'm so glad they've removed the offen...

Re: Discussion Board is STale
I'm much less certain of what resides in the Arista (now Sony) vaults for Dionne, but there is still a great amount of material of the Scepter/Warner Bros. eras waiting to be discovered. David Nathan included most of a terrific live show recorded at NJ's (then-) Garden State Arts Center for Rhino Ha...

THE SUPREMES PRODUCED & ARRANGED BY JIMMY WEBB actually *is* available on CD, but only as part of a box set. It's on Disc Three of THE SUPREMES: THIS IS THE STORY - THE 70S ALBUMS, VOLUME 1 (Hip-O Select) featuring the Supremes' albums with Jean Terrell. (Volume 2 is still forthcoming.) I agree ...

Andy's cover of "Wives and Lovers" can be found on many in-print CD compilations of Andy's work, including, I believe, IN THE LOUNGE WITH... and HAPPY HEART: THE VERY BEST OF. It's worth checking out for any fans of Mr. Williams!

You won't be sorry, Hank. It's on the RAINDROPS KEEP FALLIN' ON MY HEAD/EVERYBODY'S OUT OF TOWN two-fer CD...in addition to those 2 title songs, the CD also contains "This Guy's In Love With You," "Send My Picture To Scranton, PA," and "Long Ago Tomorrow" from Burt's pe...

Jimmy did indeed compose "To Make It Easier For You" along with all of SUNSHOWER, with the exception, of course, of "Jumpin' Jack Flash." Two other Webb songs with distinct Bacharach influence are the stunning "If You Must Leave My Life" (recorded first by Richard Harri...

Its unwieldy title is THE 4 SEASONS SING BIG HITS BY BURT BACHARACH/HAL DAVID/BOB DYLAN, and it's definitely worth seeking out on LP or CD (the Rhino and Ace CD reissues are very out-of-print, unfortunately). Track list: What The World Needs Now/Anyone Who Had A Heart/Always Something There To Remin...

Re: Put Your Youtube.com Links Here! (if you want)
Dionne was reportedly quite dissatisfied with the release of DIONNE SINGS DIONNE II and had something to do with it being blocked for further release, including in the US; however as Ron points out, there are a number of interesting tracks and it's at least as worthwhile as its predecessor. I too di...
