Re: Who Played Bass

If you are referring to Burt/ Dionne recording of Alfie from around 1967, I think that was Ray Brown on Bass....He did a fantastic job on it.

Re: Saturday Sunshine

I kind of think its a young boy as well...but you know what's interesting is that you would think the boy as an older man would have surfaced somehow talking about his recording experience with Bacharach back in the day...but no...it doesn't seem to be...that someone got some info about some dj had ...

Re: most beautiful haunting melodies you ever heard?

Beautiful haunting melodies? Certainly some great film composers/melody writers such as Victor Young(MY Foolish Heart), Max Steiner(Gone With The Wind/Summer PLace), David Raksin(Laura) or Henry MAncini,Days Of Wine and Roses/Moon River... Burt wrote a great haunting melody on Come Touch The sun! :)...

Re: Burt Bacharach/ David collabs with other Brill composers

if youre talking about that jingling effect it is most probably the triangle...used on a lot of recordings as well as some of Burt's.

Re: WTWNN

Thank you all for your thoughts and info on WTWNN demo and song...fascinating reading... I was under the impression listening to Burt talk, that the song was already completed when they stuffed it into a drawer, and then later pulled it out for De Shannon, but that may have not been the case...you s...
