scott walker rarities and the late60s/early 70s

Gosh, i have finally found a post that i've been trying to express my own feeling all these years. That is: beautiful melancholy/minor keys-tunes were popular, became classics, etc in that great music era. You haven't exaggerated a bit in saying James Brown did "The Shadows of your smile"....

Re: What the world needs now - other versions

> If yes, please supply artist(s) record label and any other relevant facts

Yes Tom Clay compiled it as a medley of 2 songs:
What the World Needs Now and
Abraham Martin and John

Touching song indeed (especially for one who grew up in the 60s when
so much was happening)

RE: Michel Legrand- summer of 42

Yes, at the age of 15, i was knocked off by Legrand's music when i watched Noel Harrison's singing "Windmills of Your mind" in the film "Thomas Crown Affair" And then music from "GO Between" , "Brian's song" , "Yentl" ... etc etc etc fascinated me. H...

connie francis and some standards from the 60s

sorry this is off topic But this should be a place for nostalgia of those wonderful melodic songs of the early 60s , the era which BB had contributed a lot. Did you notice Stan Getz in the
film clip too ?
He played that famous sax solo
