Re: Anyone think it might happen...

Hal David is not too far short of 90 yeaears of age. Does he want to write lyrics?

Probably not.

Bacharach should compose with Tim Rice or Don Black.

If the collaboration doesn't produce a hit?

So what. We fans will love it

Re: Burt in London tonight: concert review

Have watched and recorded the full concert on freeview 301 tonight. What a great concert, displaying a crossection of the full range of the music Bacharach has written over the last 50 years. I loved 'For the Children', a really beautiful orchestral piece. Burt's vocals on 'The Look of Love' and 'A ...

Re: Comment re Later with Jools Holland

Bacharach appeared on the Jools Holland show in October 2005 to promote 'At This Time". The first song he performed was definitely from that album though I'm not sure which track it was.

Re: Burt in London

I hope everybody going to the Roundhouse concert tonight has a great time.

I look forward to seeing extended highlights on Freeview 301 (red button) tomorrow and hearing the whole concert on BBC radio 2 on Friday night.

Have a good one!

Re: Your choice for a beautiful Burt co-writer hookup?

Burt can write the music without anyone's aid. What he need is a decent lyricist.

Two of the best are Don Black and Tim Rice. Both have written with John Barry and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Re: Burt in London

BBC2 TV is showing 45 mins of highlights of the Roundhouse concert at 1120pm 22/10. Should be available in iplayer for a week. I would love to have gone but with standing tickets only available I had to leave it as I have a dodgy knee which would not have benefited by standing in one position for 3 ...

Re: Burt in London

Just listened to a nice interview Burt did with Elaine Page on BBC Radio2 last Sunday. It concentrated on his film and TV work and included a stunning version of Bacharach performing "What The World Need Now" which I hadn't heard before. He also spoke movingly about his children including h...

Re: CD Exchange

Any details on that?
My impression was that the XCP CDs all came from USA and did not originate overseas so the answer is, YES.

I'm not an expert on this issue, but wouldn't Dionne make as much from the sale of a CD issue of an old LP as she would from the sale of an album of new material?. The sad truth is that, inevitably, Dionne is passed her best and many fans would be more interested in an album of her singing Bacharach...

Re: Left over Warner tracks by DW and BB

[quote="Blair N. Cummings"]I e-mailed David Nathan asking when we might see (hear) those tracks made by Dionne with Burt in `75. This was his reply: No time soon; Rhino stopped the series I was doing on her plus she is 'not happy' about all the reissues being done! Sorry! -----------------...
