Burt Bacharach - Vintage Sixties

I just picked up a copy of "Burt Bacharach - Vintage Sixties", a 2 disc vinyl collection with some very obscure titles: "Something Bad", "The Answer to Everything", "Keep Away From Other Girls" and "I Forgot What It Was Like" to name a few. Some fami...

Dear Werner, Thank you, thank you for such an enjoyable video! Wow, to see and hear one of my favorite guitarists, Wes Montgomery in a duet with Liza Minnelli was almost more than my heart could take. Just to see and hear Wes Montgomery (who left us way too early) absolutely made my day. The rest of...

Dear nymusicalsguy, Wow, thank you for your quick response and I'm sure Bob Stanley will be thrilled to get those missing tracks so he can get the CD finished. It does seem that the Rosemary June track is quite rare, but someone out there must have it!

For many of us, thank you for your generosity.

CD with rare Bacharach tracks

While reading the latest issue of "Record Collector" (Jan 2008), at the very end of the magazine is an article that tells us Bacharach fans of an exciting double CD in the making. Bob Stanley (a member of the great group, St. Etienne) has reactivated the import label, "Eclipse." ...

Hi Roberto, I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this clip of one of the best interpreters of Bacharach-David material, indeed, one of the best, period. I have been a fan of Miss DeShannon and seeing and listening to this song, which is just wonderful, has been thrilling, to say the least. Can you t...

Burt & Andy

Thank you all for your thoughtful comments, it's what makes this site such a joy! Yes, NYmusicalguy, if only Andy and Burt had collaborated on an entire album. Andy's version of Bacharach-David's "If I Could Go Back", from "Lost Horizon", is one heck of a song(arranged & cond...

I'm very partial to the version of this song by Chris Montez, which was arranged and conducted by the great, late Nick De Caro. Although Chris Montez was not known primarily for his strong voice, somehow Nick De Caro was able to fashion an arrangement that was tailor-made for him. And, yes, just a g...

Burt & Andy

The DVD is called, "The Best of The Andy Williams Show" and the segment with Burt Bacharach has Andy introducing Burt (a kind of "different" exchange, an unusual kind of humor, I guess). Then it's a medley of : Alfie, Walk on By, Always Something There, The Look of Love, I Say A ...

Dear BB, Yes, that Michael Buble song is great and it was a minor hit for him earlier this year. He puts on a really entertaining show, too so if you get a chance to see him live, try to. He even was able to get Barry Gibb to sing background vocals on his remake of "How Can You Mend A Broken He...
