Re: Traincha Sings The Burt Bacharach Songbook Vol III

Although these three (3) albums contain beautiful renditions of some of Burt's most memorable compositions, and not to discredit the producer and\or arranger of them, I very much would have preferred Burt's arrangements and productions on each and every song. Hoping that if there's a 4th installment...

Re: I'm A Better Man

Thanks bobciscus for sharing your video with us—it was simply great! When I played it, Les Miserables' "I Dreamed a Dream" came to mind—the opening bars of both songs are IDENTICAL! This would make for a very interesting lawsuit if Burt were to sue the writers of "I Dreamed a Dream&qu...

Re: R.I.P. BJ Thomas

I too am deeply saddened by B. J.'s passing. I kept up with his career through the years. I've seen him in concert several times and was astounded by his performances—the way he would sometimes change the harmonics of a certain key, his phrasing, and his timing were all stellar! I never met him but ...

Finally, Warwick among 16 Nominees

Dionne Warwick has finally been nominated as a well-deserved inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She is joined by 15 others, inclusive of 6 female artists: Carole King, Chaka Khan, and more. All I can say is "It's about damned time"! Maybe they thought that now that she's turned ...

R.I.P.—Mary Wilson

Mary Wilson, former member of The Supremes, died suddenly at her home in Las Vegas on February 8th of unknown causes. Also, there are two [2] more recent deaths that weren't mentioned on the Forum and both recorded songs penned by Burt: Bonnie Pointer and Trini Lopez, both passed away in late 2020. ...

Correction: On the above post, I credited Hal David as a co-author of the song. It was Carole Bayer Sager instead.

R.I.P.—Kenny Rogers

Kenny Rogers passed away last night surrounded by family members. He was 81. Out of all of his many songs, my favorite one happens to be a Bacharach/David tune titled "They Don't Make Them Like They Used To". I remember thumbing through his book of collected photos of fellow musicians and ...

Re: Burt and Tonio K. Original Demos CD Brand New Gifted Copy

Hello Barry—I was devastated when I found out that the CD was no longer available. I certainly would love to have it. Please tell me the procedures to take in order to obtain it. It features one of my favorite vocalists–the late, great Warren Wiebe.

Dionne's performance of cut from new Christmas album

Today's broadcast of "Tha Tamron Hall Show" featured Dionne performing "Jingle Bells" taken from her new Christmas album "Dionne & Christmas Voices". Her voice sounded good and festive and, during the bridge, her gospel roots were undeniable. Dionne had the audience...

Re: Dionne on tour

That's great news! I wish she would have a show recorded 'live' while on tour—I can never get enough of Dionne's recordings and appearances. Hope she continues the tour here state-side.
