This is a favorite from Painted From Memory. Something that has always bothered me about the structure of the song though is how the "I only have to tell myself that by now you could be with someone else" piece is not repeated in the second chorus. For me this is maybe the best section of ...

I know where you're coming from re- Elvis's voice but he sure can convey emotion...which leads me to favor his take on God Give Me Strength or This House is Empty Now over trijntje's (love her voice) or anyone else's...

I listened to a track called Amanda which I'd never heard.
It features some strange percussion choices but some classic Bacharach hooks...

Would definitely love to hear the vocal version of this.
