Gilbert had about three hits which were great, and I spent money on his LPs trying to find deep cuts... Actually he has been writing songs till now and on average published a new CD every other year. But his masterpiece is one called "Every Song Has Its Play" (around 1995) It's the best o...

Anyone recognised this version of The Look of Love?

I spotted this version used in a Hong Kong B&W movie,
a comedy made in the 60s

Does anyone know where this version is from?

John Barry

Oops. I just discovered this thread sidetracking to John Barry. He could really write some haunting melodies. One of his lesser known film score which I love is for the 1973 film "Alice's Adventure in Wonderland" I've put a few songs from this film on Youtube to share: http://www.youtube.c...

Oh, yes, Steveo, I am very well of all the hits Thom Bell wrote. I also remember when his great lyricist, Linda Creed, died... and so young. I also thought that Thom Bell was an "heir", so to speak, of Burt, in that I could see Burt's influence in not only his composing but also in his or...

Off topic: Jobim's story on BBC Radio2

Hi all My love of music was so much due to the wonderful output of Jobim, Bacharach and Jimmy Webb from the mid 60s to early 70s I guess there must be lots of forum members here who listen to Antonio Carlos Jobim. There's a very good series currently aired on BBC radio 2 The second one of the series...
