Re: Put Your Youtube.com Links Here! (if you want)
Brief interview with Burt and Carole. OMG was it really 31 yrs ago ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sCOBvi0M20 'blue' I guess so -- 3 decades in an instant! Knowing now what Carole really thought of Burt puts this video into a different perspective. It looks to me that Carole is really ticked off...

This has nothing to do with Burt, but this video is so terrific that I know many of you will love it.

On My Own
I always loved this song. Listen to how it's done here. Thank you Burt!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRLuW4-f2eE P.s. On "The Tavis Smiley Show," Carole was complaining that Burt wouldn't let her change one note (to whatever song they were working on) and complained that Burt insisted ...

Re: Carole Bayer Sager's Memoir
....... Sadly, and probably at the behest of her publishers she devotes far more space to her troubled marriage to Bacharach than she does to their professional relationship and the fact that she still harbours a lot of bitterness and resentment towards him is revealed in a couple of vindictive pas...

Re: "Bob Dylan", Nobel Laureate
My problem with this is how do you give the Nobel Prize in Literature to a songwriter (I don't care who the songwriter is) before you give it to Philip Roth? Sort of like giving a songwriting award to Bruno Mars before giving it to Burt Bacharach. Makes no sense.

Re: That's How Heartaches Are Made
Yeah, Vincent, that's a great song -- and it does have a certain Bacharach sound to it -- at least the Bacharach sound of that period. The song was written by Bob Halley and Ben Raleigh -- whoever they are. I'm not familiar with their work at all. From: https://www.musixmatch.com/lyrics/Dusty-Spring...

Here she is on Live with Kelly. At the 6:00 minute point she starts talking about Burt.

Re: Carole Bayer Sager on Live with Kelly
She was on CBS This Morning last Sunday morning and she trashed Burt. I was astounded, shocked and very disappointed. God only knows what bleepin' words came out of Burt's mouth when he heard it -- as I know they came out of mine. I'll see if I can find it on youtube and post it here.

She would be brilliant singing "My Thief" (from PFM). It's a melody made for her voice and style.

Here's a more reliable link to Rumer's Close to You. Yes, she nails it alright: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LxwoK5pYM48 Love it! So pure! What a great melody and she showcases it so beautifully. I do miss the "Waaaa, ah ah ah ah, close to you" part, however. Also, it would have been nic...

Re: Amy Winehouse
I had no idea who Amy was until she appeared on David Letterman's show and sang "Rehab." I was bowled over by her singing, her voice and her style -- and I knew right then and there that she would be a major star. A terrible loss indeed!

Re: Update on Rumer - This Girl's in Love: A Bacharach & David Songbook
One of the songs mentioned in the early publicity that seems to have fallen by the wayside is ‘To Wait for Love’, which is a bit of a shame because I think it would have suited her down to the ground. Maybe it will eventually appear as a bonus track on a reissue or as a single B-side. I suppose in ...
