If anyone is interested, certain band members didn't know until a few minutes before the show and had to rapidly transpose some of their music into a different key to match Hal....

Those there would have witnessed the Burt Bacharach/Hal David reunion onstage...
a great premise for a world tour.

But on the other hand, Mr. West did employ the ever lovely Eliza James to play one of the violins on his set production, so it wasn't all bad.... even though you could only see the darned fluorescent violins. And if it hadn't have been for the writers' strike she would have been playing at the Gover...

A well known violinist (to Vincent Cole at least... and those of you fortunate enough to see Burt's show) was recording a music video with Randy Travis this week and the discussion between takes went something like this...... "So you work for Burt, huh" "Yes" "Must be great ...

well, i was, but in the 8 or so hours that intervened, the world turned, and, no i'm not....

And if you see them in the L.A. area when Burt is not touring, you may well see the gracious Miss Eliza James, (Burt's violinist extraordinaire) wiggling her stuff as part of the show.

But it either has to be in San Jose or Tulsa.... My choice would be Tulsa since it will have a brand new mega convention center by then and most people world wide (including me) heard of Tulsa *first* from Burt's music (and that's where I live now.... funny innit) David (and certain members of Burt'...

There is going to be a Burt performance in may in the Pacific Northwest... around May 20th... i don't know if it is public or private, but those of you up there, come in out of the rain, dry yourselves off and look in the newspapers.

And the other link is that the inimitable Eliza James, violinist to the stars, spent a quiet evening talking to Mr Tarantino in a coffee house in LA without actually realizing who he was... we get a lot of those stories... we call them "Liz moments"....
