Re: Dionne compilation

Welcome to the Forum, steveoreno! "I Didn't Mean To Love You" was pulled off the shelves as well as off the air for a reason that I can't remember. That reason was discussed on this Forum some time ago and I do remember that someone had mentioned that Helen Reddy did it first. When I first...

Re: Discussion Board is STale

I agree with you Ron that us fans would love to see all of the other songs Dionne has done such as: the two songs from the Dave Clark project "Time"; the theme song from the movie "The Seduction"; The theme song from "Valley Of The Dolls II". I'm sure there are other ra...

Re: Dionne compilation

Aaron, in reference to Tony Camillo's sessions which includes her remake of "Don't Say I Didn't Tell You So", I distinctly remember that there were two versions of it when the album "Sensitive Sounds Of Dionne Warwick" came out around 1965. I would like to know more about those s...

Re: Dionne compilation

I would definitely include "Dream Sweet Dreamer" in your compilation. That particular song epitomizes what Burt said about her voice: "Her voice has the mystery like the mystery of ships in bottles".

Re: "Look In My Eyes Maria".....Cliff's version !!!

I tried to download the last entry posted by blueonblue and it is not available due to "term violations". Around a year ago Sir Cliff Richard released an album entitled "Duets" which features a beautiful version of "Anyone Who Had A Heart" in which, of course, Dionne du...

Carol Duboc's forthcoming CD

The new release by jazz vocalist Carol Duboc entitled "Burt Bacharch Songbook" will be released on August 18, 2009. It features Grammy award winner jazz flautist Hubert Laws. According to the review from All About Jazz, she does a playful take on "I'll Never Fall In Love Again", ...

Re: So I stay here...All Through the Day

I couldn't agree with you more BachtoBacharach, especially your last two sentences (can't figure out how to use "quotes"). I can't understand for the life of me how these so-called "divas" get all the record sales and promotions and can't carry a tune if you put it in a bucket fo...

Re: Jamie Anders

Using Yahoo! as my search engine, he popped up as a featured vocalist on Burt's "Futures" album and that's about it. After hearing Mario Biondi's voice on "Every Other Hour" (my favorite song by Burt), it reminded me of Jamie's gritty and soulful voice. I really like the way both...

Re: Waiting For Charlie:What song!!!

In the mid-sixties, on the jukebox in my family's nightclub, was a version of "Waiting for Charlie to Come Home" on 45rpm. This version was done by Nancy Wilson and upon hearing it, I opened up the jukebox and took a look at it to see who the writers/producers/arrangers were and I wasn't s...

Re: Burt Live in Antwerpen + Brand New Song!!

I couldn't agree with you more, Enormous! I stated in an earlier post that I have been a devout fan of Burt's for 50 years and out of all of his compositions, "Every Other Hour" is absolutely my favorite! I am hoping that someone (Dionne preferably) would record it digitally (DDD) so that ...

Every Other Hour

Thanx Toms1234 for sharing Josie's English version "Every Other Hour"! Burt himself stated that this is a "brand new song" during his introductions of the band members. I have been a devout fan of Burt's for 50 years and this new song is absolutely my favorite! I hope he records ...

Re: Irma Thomas and a new Bacharach song

Please refer to the nymusicalsguy post of August 14, 2008 on page 3 of this forum for the initial announcement of Irma Thomas' Rounder release "Simply Grand" which was released back on Tuesday, August 12, 2008. "What Can I Do" is one of my favorite Bacharach songs as I have almos...

Re: Isaac Hayes passed away

It was mentioned in an earlier post that Isaac Hayes had recorded "Walk On By" with Dionne on the ABC album "A Man and A Woman" and also an 11-minute version of it on his "Hot Buttered Soul" album. I really enjoyed his interpretations of at least two (2) more of Burt's ...

Diana Krall

I read that Diana Krall would be releasing a new CD with songs that Burt along with her husband, Elvis, composing the songs. However, I went to her site a few moments ago and read that her new CD ("From This Moment On") features songs that were written by other composers. I was so looking ...
