Re: Soft / Smooth BACHARACH

and how about "Loneliness Remembers, What Happiness Forgets"? I agree about loving the less well-known and performed B/D/Warwick numbers, too.

Re: new hi-fi - which BB track to play?

There's always the "Casino Royale" soundtrack - that was an audiophile "must-have" back in the vinyl days - hopefully the CD has the same sonics?

Re: Burt arrangement for Marlene Dietrich

Burt did many excellent, and individual, arrangements for a lot of Marlene's stage repertoire - in my opinion, most of them are well worth listening to. Many of Marlene's 1960's studio recordings were made with Burt. Managed to see her in both 1964 and '65, when she came to the Edinburgh Festival wi...

Kritzerland managed to get rights to issue a second 1000 of this release! Get one while they are still available - well worth it.

Re: Put Your Youtube.com Links Here! (if you want)

Thank you, guys, for all the info about "The Look Of Love" recording: I did think that it might have been on that rare "Dionne Sings Dionne II" - it's one of the few that I don't have in my collection. Will have to look out for it now! It is a breath-taking performance of this B ...

Re: Put Your Youtube.com Links Here! (if you want)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cs79NjF4om4&feature=related This is a terrific version of "The Look Of Love" by Dionne - I have searched for this on all my Dionne CDs and albums, but can't find it anywhere - any suggestions? It runs for over 4 minutes - and is not the normal Dionne reco...

Re: New Bacharach Early years CD

My CD arrived here in Scotland today - haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but the layout, design and quality of the booklet and CD looks superb! I have transferred the tracks to my Iphone, and will be listening to it on the bus commute into Edinburgh tomorrow. Always great to have more (and n...

Re: That old Dylan / "Raindrops..." story

I would dearly love to hear that Dionne version of "Everybody's Out Of Town" - imagine her voice against that slithery backing track! (I love that intro). It is a very under-rated B/D song.
Wonder if it will ever turn up - maybe David Nathan could instigate a search of the vaults?

Re: New Bacharach Early years CD

Has anyone been able to pre-order this CD from the website? I keep trying, and it knocks me back when I am about halfway through ordering - also tried the PayPal link, but that doesn't seem to work either - do you think it might be available from amazon later? Looks excellent, by the way - loads of ...

Re: Magic Moments: The Definitive Burt Bacharach

Well it's been released in the UK, I received my copy from amazon.co.uk here in Scotland this morning. Haven't had a listen yet - but it's a 3 CD digipack, with a small booklet inserted into a slot in the sleeve.
Hope to get round to hearing this later today.

Re: Always Something There - Ace compilation

Well! I gave this CD a listen to and from work today: all I can say is, all Bacharachians need to get this for their collections! If only for the truly wonderful (and raucous) "Move It On the Backbeat", which I guarantee you will want to play over and over - I did! From the opening fanfare...

CD arrived today! Great package (as always from Ace) - 20 page booklet: packed to the gunwhales with record label , sheet music and artist pictures, recording details, facts and figures, and a nice appreciation and track listing detail list from Mick Patrick. No stone (or recording) is left unturned...
