"...golden rule" lyrics

Preceded by the line: And if life belongs only to the strong... it suggests that the powerful have no need of reciprocity from the weak and powerless. Or so I`ve always read it.

Ed Ames recorded Nikki for one of his RCA albums over thirty years ago; don`t know of another.

Bacharach bio

The only biography I know of is entitled "Bacharach: Maestro! The Life of a Pop Genius" by Michael Brocken and published in paperback by Chrome Dreams, a U.K. house. I found it through Amazon where it should still be available.

On the Flip Side

Considering the recent and impending re-issues,what`s holding back the old Decca soundtrack of the `67 tv musical, "On the Flip Side"?

Bacharach DVDs?

At the conclusion of Serene Dominic`s discography, Song By Song, is the suggestion that someone collect Burt`s old tv specials into a boxed set.
Does anyone know if such a project has been (or will be) undertaken?

new album progress?

Does anyone have any inside info on the progress of the new Dr. Dre-inspired album or when we might reasonably expect to be able to lay our hands on this thing?

Over the closing credits of the movie a mannered, hokey vocal of the title song is performed. A wise decision was made to exclude it from the soundtrack recording and, to my knowledge, no one has ever wasted valuable studio time covering it.

There is no album on which Burt sings on all tracks and, indeed, he is on record (so to speak) saying that if he were to make such an album not ten people would buy it.

Rare Bacharach

I tried posting this a minute ago but was apparently unsuccessful. My apologies if it appears twice.
I contacted the Raven people a while back and was told that the hassles involved in producing the first volume were enough to discourage a second.

First major Bacharach song

The first Bacharach song to make an auteur of me was "Come and Get Me" by Jackie de Shannon.

Lost Horizon Instrumental Score

Does anyone (perhaps the administrator?) know if thre is any chance that the instrumental score (as opposed to the official soundtrack) for Lost Horizon will ever be released?

Best of the 80s

I strongly agree with the above instrumental tracks from Arthur and would add a vocal selection from that ST: Fool Me Again.
Most of the collaborations with Bayer-Sager were pretty lame, but their album,Sometimes Late at Nght (with the exception of the two non-Bacharach songs), was very good.

If you`re not familiar with the compositions of Jim Webb you have a lot of work ahead of you.
In addition, if you`re willing to dig for obscurities, check out the album by Paul Williams` former composer Roger Nichols entitled Roger Nichols and the Small Circle of Friends.[/list]

unrecorded ballet

A few years back on the American Masters program, Burt was seen in collaboration with the British choreographer Gillian Lynne. Was this project ever completed and,if so,are there any planned (or extant) recordings of the result?
