Re: Trouble accessing here

I knew everyone had trouble accessing the Forum simply by looking at the number of "replies" and "views": they both read "0" since August 14, 2013. Just glad we're back up and running 'cause I visit daily!

Re: Extended Versions of Bacharach/David/Warwick Songs?

Grooverider: There's only one Kim Weston song on the CD: "It's Too Soon To Know" written by Deborah Chessler, the 1947 debut hit for the Orioles. Pat Boone had a hit with it in 1958. This was Kim's first jazz session with Mickey Stevenson and was recorded in New York. Kim happens to be one...

Re: Extended Versions of Bacharach/David/Warwick Songs?

Thanks grooverider for sharing that! I too am a huge fan of extended versions, remixes, rarities, alternate takes, and outtakes. I have quite a collection of CD's that include these type of recordings i.e. extended versions of Hall & Oates' "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)", Aretha's &...

Re: "After All"

Ron: Yet ANOTHER little-known duet by Dionne and Blue System's Dieter Bohlen entitled "It's All Over" was recorded in Los Angeles in the summer of 1991. It was released in November of that year. This happens to be my all-time favorite duet of hers because again the production is top notch ...

Forgot to mention that the Anka/Warwick duet "You And I" appears on YouTube--just type in Paul Anka/Dionne Warwick and you're in for a real treat--top notch production!

Re: "After All"

Ron, there's a duet between Paul and Dionne entitled "You And I" from his Polydor Import album "Somebody Loves You" circa 1995 that's simply dazzling! I don't remember who composed it but it sounds strikingly remeniscent of Burt's style. I have tried to find it but to no avail. T...

Re: The Dells sing Dionne Warwick's Hits

Marvin Junior, that awesome baritone voice, passed away at age 77 in Illinois a few weeks ago. Their album which honored Dionne was a Tour-de-force and was one of my favorites from them. My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Junior's family, friends, and many, many fans.

Re: Remembering Hal David...

Please keep my arms wound around you, forever...Here I am, here I'll stay... I was afraid but now my doubts and fears are gone...Here I am and here I'll always stay, close to you, in love with you my dear, close to you. Can you believe these lyrics appeared in the middle of a very funny comedy? Only...

Re: Favorite Warwick/Bacharach/David Studio Album?

My all-time favorite Warwick/Bacharach/David studio album is 1964's "Make Way For Dionne Warwick". What did it for me were three (3) consecutive tracks: "(They Long To Be) Close To You", "In The Land Of Make Believe", and "The Last One To Be Loved". I had neve...

Just viewed a clip of Johnny Mathis receiving the "Art Guild Lifetime Achievement Award" presented by Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters of which Deneice Williams and Dionne Warwick were in attendance. Dionne took to the podium to honor Mathis and then stated that a project she is working on wil...

Hi Diane, Yes, I am a huge fan of Rumer's! PLEASE check out the YouTube video "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)" featuring Rumer and Daryl Hall from "Live From Daryl's House". It's five INCREDIBLE minutes of sheer musical genius! Hoping she and Burt will go into the studio and com...

Re: DIONNE WARWICK ... 72 / 50

Hi face, I really appreciate and understand your interests in Dionne's career. Like I've mentioned before, I have been an avid fan of hers since 1962. I remember when the late, great Johnny Carson was the host of NBC's "The Tonight Show", every time a new single of hers was released, she w...
