.... BIG QUESTION now - who will record the "definitive version" .... Hope John Pagano gets an opportunity! I agree. I can't imagine it being improved upon by anyone else. Having heard him perform the song in concert twice I'd say he's never sounded more impressive. It's John's song.........

Intriguingly the most sustained applause of the evening for an individual number was for 'Blanket of Capes', one of the new songs featuring lyrics by Melody Federer. Taking a particular motif from a song and using it for the intro and fade on the recording is a very Bacharachian trait, and so is having female backing vocalists sing it wordlessly.
