Re: Put Your Youtube.com Links Here! (if you want)

Another "magic moment" from one of those Superb 'Bacharach TV Specials'

An "official" DVD / Blu-ray release of all those "vintage" shows is long overdue.

Re: One That Got By Me

Blair,
I think one of the reasons for the songs scarcity is that it was a UK only release from 1965.
Apart from Anita Harris, I don't know if anyone else ever recorded it ?

I'd love to be proved wrong.

Re: Concert choice

For some reason, I found both Cat Stevens and Christopher Cross to be unlistenable. But I didn`t mind this three or four hit wonder. I never bothered with his albums but the singles showed a higher-than-average melodic sense. I wonder why he vanished so fast. From `73: https://www.youtube.com/watch...

Re: Songs Bacharach fans would appreciate(Old School)

This thread is different than another song like Bacharach in that it showcases artists that make beautiful music that simply showcases artistry that can be appreciated by someone who would appreciate the complexity of a Bacharach tune. Of course everything is subjective but still.... Il start with ...

Re: Bacharach in the UK Summer 2019

My sources say Burt doesn't like the heat of LA in July and prefers the more temperate UK, hence his annual visits for the past few years. Except that it hasn't been too temperate in July these past few summers, especially last year when we were actually hotter than LA at the time of his two concer...

Re: Bacharach in the UK Summer 2019

The news that Bacharach is headlining The Mostly Jazz, Funk and Soul Festival in Birmingham on July 14th suggests that he'll be touring the UK again next summer with more dates to be confirmed. After the reception he received in Berlin back in July and the promise he gave to return, perhaps he's pl...

Re: Francis Lai 1932 - 2018

I've just listened to BBC Radio 4's obituary show 'The Last Word' which this week featured Francis Lai (pronounced 'Lie') and they played a powerful piece of his that was originally from the soundtrack of 'Un Homme et une Femme' and which was adapted for use as the theme to BBC TV's current affairs...
