Re: Les Reed 1935 - 2019

Re: UK No.1 album contains new Jimmy Webb song

If I`m not mistaken, "Marie" is from Randy Newman`s `74 album, Rednecks. I could spew immoderately for hours over this absurd project, but I won`t. I've always considered this to be one of the most beautiful ballads ever written, let's hope JW can do it justice. https://www.youtube.com/wa...

Another "magic moment" from one of those Superb 'Bacharach TV Specials'

An "official" DVD / Blu-ray release of all those "vintage" shows is long overdue.

Re: One That Got By Me

Blair,
I think one of the reasons for the songs scarcity is that it was a UK only release from 1965.
Apart from Anita Harris, I don't know if anyone else ever recorded it ?

I'd love to be proved wrong.

Re: Concert choice

For some reason, I found both Cat Stevens and Christopher Cross to be unlistenable. But I didn`t mind this three or four hit wonder. I never bothered with his albums but the singles showed a higher-than-average melodic sense. I wonder why he vanished so fast. From `73: https://www.youtube.com/watch...
