Re: Dionne's Upcoming Album

Oops! Thank you Sara for fact-checking me. My apologies to Ms. Parton whom I love and admire. Anyway, her "World on Fire" is on fire! Speaking of age, I'll turn 73 Aug. 13th but since I always hung out with the upper classmen in school and people older than myself, I've been told that I ge...

Dionne's Upcoming Album

In listening to Dolly and Dionne's new duet "Peace Like A River" from Dionne's forthcoming album "Songs of Inspiration", I couldn't help but marvel at how good the both of their voices sounded and blended together, given that both are in their eighties! The lyrics speak for thems...

Re: Traincha Sings The Burt Bacharach Songbook Vol III

Thanks Paul for sharing "I Still Have That Other Girl" with the Forum! I agree with your assessment of Traincha's 3rd collection of Bacharach's songs. The reason for the lushier sound on it is because of the producer. If I'm not mistaken, the first two were produced by Vince Montana. This ...

R.I.P.—Stephen Sondheim

Broadway Legend Stephen Sondheim has passed away at age 91. He was one of Broadway's most popular composers. One of my favorite compositions by him was a song made famous by Judy Collins and also Frank Sinatra. And, of course, "Oklahoma", being from Oklahoma myself. My condolences are exte...

Re: Traincha Sings The Burt Bacharach Songbook Vol III

Although these three (3) albums contain beautiful renditions of some of Burt's most memorable compositions, and not to discredit the producer and\or arranger of them, I very much would have preferred Burt's arrangements and productions on each and every song. Hoping that if there's a 4th installment...
