Re: Two more Bacharach & Tashian songs
There are two podcasts available where Bacharach and Tashian are interviewed and talk about writing their songs. I found them on my iPhone Podcast App, and have listened so far to one of them - https://www.sodajerker.com/episode-168-burt-bacharach-and-daniel-tashian/ Here is the second - https://www...

Re: New Elvis Costello album
I just heard a podcast where Elvis is interviewed by Andrew Ford (Australian composer) about the new album. The interview was originally broadcast on Australian Radio (Radio National - The Music Show) in October. In the interview, Elvis talks about the collaboration with Bacharach. Some points he ma...

Re: What Ever Happened to "Po"?
There is a Facebook page for the film which has updates about screenings (at Film Festivals). They do say "it will have a limited run in Los Angeles November 25th to Dec. 1st". They have a link to a report which outlines how Bacharach got to be involved in the film, and a video of the song "Dancing ...

Yes - it certainly is from Macarthur Park. I can remember that instrumental theme (the longer version from Macarthur Park) was used as a promo theme by a TV station here in Australia back around 1970. At exactly the same time, another station was using an instrumental version of part of "Promises Pr...

Re: Burt's classical music inspirations
It is interesting that Bacharach has mentioned many times in recent years the influence of Ravel. But I can remember listening to a radio series on Bacharach - called the "Bacharach Bio" which was broadcast of radio in the early 1970's. It was a series of about 11 one hour programs. On one of those ...

Re: Lincol Center - Some Lovers
This performance - to my naïve surprise - already has been removed from the LC Live website. If it`s any consolation, only blue logged in to voice his enjoyment of the program. Everyone else seems implicitly to have shared my underwhelmed response. Not correct - I had also expressed my enthusiasm f...

Re: Livestream of "Some Lovers"
The livestream is still available - I am not sure how long it will be. I really enjoyed the songs. I had perhaps listened to slightly more than half before so knew what quite a few were like. I think it is great to hear some fairly new Burt Bacharach melodies.

Although the song was dropped from the show, a bit of it survived in the Overture.
